Performs all necessary functions to support the BHS Materials Management Department in assuring all products are available for use and accurately recorded for Accounting and Inventory documentation.
Responsible for loading any requests to add, change, or delete items to the item master after review and authorization by appropriate purchasing representative. Audits inventory transactions in Purchasing, Receiving, and the Storeroom. Adjusts inventory as needed to match quantity on hand with detailed explanation as to why adjustments have been made.
Observes supply levels and adjusts pars as needed to assure items on hand meet the needs of the end users. Addresses ongoing concerns with appropriate purchasing representative. Maintains and monitors PAR levels throughout the hospital. Works directly with the primary distributors to address backorders and substitute items (as approved by end users) and follows through to adjust the orders accordingly. Maintains all areas of materials storage in a neat and organized manner including labeling for bin labels, par levels, and location codes.
Restock utilizing proper rotation methods. Assists Purchasing with invoice/receiving exceptions on Inventory orders. Interfaces directly with Accounts Payable in instances where price discrepancies exist between the purchase order and invoice within a minimal dollar range. Approves short payments to vendors for the invoiced price. Reports all major or consistent price discrepancies to the appropriate Purchasing representative. Performs Cycle Counts/Semi Annual Inventories. Processes Bill Only Purchase Orders for the Operating Room. Communicates with the Departments in relation to requisitions and orders that are in progress. Reviews and expedites backorders. Understands theory of asepsis and complies with universal precautions. Decontaminates surgical instrumentation using the washer decontaminators or manual cleaning methods according to manufacturer's IFU (instructions for use). Examines, assembles and packages instruments for sterilization. Sterilizes instrumentation using steam or Vaporized Hydrogen Peroxide sterilizers, according to manufacturer's IFU. Monitors and documents the sterilization process, following recommended guidelines. Attends all department meetings. Performs additional tasks as need as assigned by the Materials Management Director. Agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position and has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law or the standards of conduct lo his or her immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Chief Executive Officer.
