The Public Health Department of San Luis Obispo County is in need of an Administrative Services Officer for Family Health Services.
This position oversees the Clinical Unit within the Division of Family Health Services and is tasked with the overall administrative, budgetary and personnel management functions of the Unit, to include direct supervision of all clinic front office staff at four clinic locations (Grover Beach, Paso Robles, and two locations in San Luis Obispo). The position will report directly to the Division Manager for FHS and will be responsible for all business procedures for the clinics. The position is responsible for policy and procedure development, ensuring that all Clinical unit administrative staff comply with Health Agency, County and State rules, administrative policies and procedures; coordination and communication with key staff including two Supervising Public Health Nurse and the administrative billing unit; data collection and assessment to determine operational efficiencies, and financial effectiveness.
Administrative Services Officer I is part of a career series for Administrative Services Officer I and II. Under direction, performs a variety of activities involved in the overall administrative, budgetary and personnel management activities of a designated County department; coordinates and organizes office and business activities and flow of communications and information to ensure effective and efficient activities; may supervise, train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; and does other related work as required.

here for the full job description. The successful candidate must have experience with clinical operations, health insurance billing, and electronic health records systems. This position will have administrative oversight in clinics that operate in four locations throughout the county, handling immunizations, TB testing, family planning, STD and pregnancy testing, billing, etc.
Minimum Qualifications Administrative Services Officer I: Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field (Job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis).
