The Health Agency is recruiting for Behavioral Health Clinicians I/II/III in Drug and Alcohol Services and Adult Mental Health Services!

Classes in this series provide a variety of professional mental health and substance use disorder assessment, diagnosis, therapy, counseling, education, and community outreach services to clients in the community, schools, clinics, jail, juvenile hall, and inpatient settings.

Drug & Alcohol Services Division
The Drug & Alcohol Services Division offers a variety of services and programs to help people with drug and alcohol problems, including public walk-in clinics, outpatient treatment, and court-mandated programs.
Justice Services Division
The Justice Services Division is focused on providing co-occurring treatment for individuals who are at risk of being incarcerated or who have already entered the criminal justice system.
Adult Mental Health Services Division
The Adult Mental Health Services Division delivers a range of treatment services from outpatient to inpatient levels of care in order to provide compassionate, safe, timely and effective behavioral health services for individuals with severe mental health disabilities. 
Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF) is within the Adult Mental Health Services Division
The Behavioral Health Department operates a 16-bed, licensed Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF). The PHF provides evaluation and treatment for acute mental illness under licensed psychiatric direction.  
Youth Mental Health Services Division
The Youth Mental Health Services Division of the Behavioral Health Department provides a range of services for children and youth affected by mental illness, trauma, and environmental stress. These services include individual and family therapy, rehabilitation, case management, and psychiatric care.
Prevention and Outreach
The Prevention & Outreach Division of the Behavioral Health Department provides health promotion, prevention, and early intervention, along with targeted outreach and treatment for difficult-to-serve, and under-served populations. Programs range from school and community-based prevention and counseling, to youth and young adult substance use disorder treatment, college and veterans outreach and treatment. Several of the programs within the Division are part of the County's Mental Health Services Act plan.
Quality Support Division
The Quality Support Division ensures access to effective, high quality behavioral health treatment services for Medi-Cal (CenCal) beneficiaries in San Luis Obispo County.

Unless noted otherwise, licensure/registration must be held at time of application and maintained throughout employment.

Candidates interested in working for Adult Services Division inpatient services must be licensed. 

Minimum Qualifications:
Behavioral Health Clinician I: Master's Degree in a counseling or related field must be posted, and proof of intern registration application with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or Board of Psychology. Proof of active intern registration must be presented in order to complete the initial probationary period.

Behavioral Health Clinician II: Master's Degree in a counseling or related field, and proof of active intern registration with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, or Board of Psychology; and equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience, post-Master's degree, in providing direct services to individuals and/or families.

Behavioral Health Clinician III: Current active and unrestricted California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, or Psychologist, AND two (2) years of professional experience, post-licensure, in a related field.
