If you are an Instructional Designer looking for a chance to put your creativity in motion and have a drive for developing engaging content, we want to hear from you!  This role will allow you the flexibility and autonomy to create and apply your ideas while collaborating with our clinical team in support of an exceptional mission.  The coursework you design will greatly impact the oncology nursing community and the lives of the patients they care for every day. 

The Instructional Designer is responsible for creating engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.  This position will manage all phases of the learning activity lifecycle from needs assessment to implementation and evaluation.  Plans, coordinates, executes, and analyzes learning materials with particular attention to a successful end user experience.  Maintains knowledge of current trends and technological tools to guide the development and modification of learning activities.

Responsibilities

  • Creates learning activities in an LMS and/or authoring software; finds, evaluates, and modifies graphics and other materials while adhering to current copyright law; writes effective instructional text and video/audio scripts; creates audio and video educational content.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams in crafting learning activities that approach content development holistically. Manages the timeline of the project and responsibilities of engaged team members. 
  • Maintains project documentation. Oversees, evaluates, and troubleshoots current educational materials and systems. Offers improved processes and changes to enhance the learner experience and content development.
  • Maintains knowledge of learning and development trends and brings new and innovative ideas to the table, including new techniques, software, educational partners, etc.  in an effort to contribute to the strategic direction of design methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar degree; master's degree in instructional design preferred.
  • 3-5 years related instructional design experience and/or training and 2-3 years designing and developing content in Storyline; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in basic animation, graphic design, and/or audio-visual production within an e-learning environment is preferred.  Experience with developing online education and in-depth knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design principles, and current learning technologies.
