Job Title:  Product Manager

 

Responsibilities:

 

The TrailStone Technology department is looking for a Product Manager. The candidate should have with a strong business analysis background, working within a technology team and leading multiple projects.

Do you love problem solving and thinking beyond an obvious solution? Do you thrive in ambiguity and teams where little guidance should fuel your creativity? We are looking for an imaginative and motivated individual to drive insights through data for the TrailStone team. This person should be passionately curious, help leadership see around corners, and cut through ambiguity to deliver results.

  • Delivering projects and new Technology functionality for custom-built renewable energy software platforms.
  • Working directly with business groups to break down and document current user processes, define future business processes, and gather user requirement to enable product development
  • Working directly with developers to translate business requirements into user stories and technical requirements.
  • Leading small agile teams by providing guidance to developers and business analysts.
  • Developing project plans, managing project scope, prioritizing requests and proactively resolving issues.
  • Communicating and collaborating with business users and Technology management, giving regular feedback and updates on projects.
  • Providing guidance to business users on how to operate the relevant IT functionality for their area.
  • Providing support and guidance to the business teams post the go-live of new areas of functionality; including training, documentation and assistance with 3rd line support.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies, SDLC Process and requirements gathering.
  • Experience delivering projects with tight deadlines.
  • Experience defining a solution delivery process, creating project work plans, assessing and mitigating project risks, tracking and communicating projects status, and prioritizing and resolving issues.
  • Shows ownership and accountability in all aspects of work.
  • Collaborative, and able to work independently with limited direction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management skills are critical; having the ability to prioritize tasks and manage expectations.
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment with less structure than many banks and large corporations..
  • Extensive experience with Agile project management tools (Jira, Rally, Asana)

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of energy trading and risk management (ETRM) business processes including: trade exchange integration, trade capture, trade valuation, confirmations, invoicing, and risk reporting. 
  • Knowledge of ERCOT power market, : day-ahead and real-time markets, power scheduling, CRR/FTR’s.
  • Experience with energy trading and risk management (ETRM) systems.
  • Experience with Python and SQL

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in a STEM field or equivalent working experience
