About Amador Community Foundation
The Amador Community Foundation was founded in 1999 by a generous donation from Mrs. Helen Fallis. Helen was the youngest of seven children, and born in South Dakota. Her parents died at a very young age and she was raised in poverty by her older sister, Peggy. She and her husband John moved to California in 1940 and retired to Amador County in 1977. Everything they had was earned with hard work.
