Cedar Bluffs Schools has developed a Safety/Security Plan that is designed to minimize danger to students and school staff should an emergency occur. Our main objective is to attend to the health and welfare of our students. In most emergencies, your son/daughter will remain and be cared for at the school until he/she can be safely released or transported home. In situations that prohibits re-entry into the school building, students will be escorted to a safe alternative location and you will be notified where they are located and the procedures to get them home. We ask that you follow these steps when you learn of a school emergency: Turn on your radio or TV. We will try to convey information to parents via KFAB (Omaha) at 1110 AM and KHUB (Fremont) at 1340 AM or KETV Channel 7. Information will also be sent through Alert Now, a communication system that can deliver tens of thousands of voice and text messages within minutes to telephones, cell phones, and computers. Please do NOT try to telephone the school. We have limited phone lines and these must be used to respond to the emergency. Please do NOT come to the school unless you are requested to pick up your child. Any emergency involving the school may mean that emergency vehicles and workers must be able to get to the building. Traffic control at the school site is crucial. We will inform you as soon as possible via radio and other means as to when and where to pick up your child. You may want to put this information inside your telephone book or in some other prominent place in your home. Thank you for your cooperation.
