The business was started by Chuck and Beverly Hockenberry in the old Engel's building located in downtown Jasper, Al. At that time the business was named Chuck-n-Berry's and sold a variety of items from antiques to women's apparel. In the mid 1990's the business changed its name to Ole Town Creek Mall since it sold mostly antiques. In May of 2000, Beverly and Chuck's son, Reggie, joined the business after graduating from the University of Alabama. Later that year the business began selling new high-end furniture and changed its name to High Point Furniture to reflect the new business model. The business specialized in selling closeouts from high end manufacturers like Baker, Henredon, Hickory Chair, and many others. In August 2007, High Point Furniture moved to a larger location on Highway 78. The expanded showroom of 20,000 square feet allowed High Point Furniture to add new furniture lines such as La-Z-Boy, Flexsteel, Rowe, Lexington, Hooker, Bernhardt, Universal, and many more.
