The Student Nurse Extern Program is a 10-week paid learning opportunity open to nursing students who are within 1 year of their anticipated graduation from an accredited RN program. Through a mentoring relationship with a Registered Nurse, Student Nurse Externs are able to enhance their clinical skills by providing direct care, practicing within the scope of a clinical assistant while receiving observational learning experiences of the bedside nurse by working one on one with their RN mentor/preceptor. The 2025 Program starts May 27th and ends August 8th, 2025. Through a mentoring relationship with Licensed Nurse Assistants, Student Nurse LNA Externs are able to provide direct patient care under the LNA scope of practice. Externs will also receive observational learning experiences by working one-on-one with their LNA mentor/preceptor to a variety of different patient populations. The 2025 program starts May 12 and ends the first week of August.
