Pod Pack International, LTD. is one of the lucky businesses that have been spared of any flood damage to its facility. Unfortunately, several of our employees have not been so lucky and have lost their homes and vehicles. Road closures are still a huge issue. Cell phone service is very limited, except for texting. Baton Rouge is still under a state of emergency, and public officials have asked everyone to stay off the roads as much as possible, so as to not hamper rescue efforts. Based on all of these factors, we have made a decision not to run production on Monday, August 15th. Most of the office employees will be working from their homes, and their direct office lines have been forwarded to their cell phones. Since the impact to our individual employees varies widely, they will have at least one day to focus on their family™s safety and security before returning to work. They will very much appreciate your prayers this week. The most significant long term challenge will be dealing with the massive road closures in the next few days until the water fully recedes. It will impact our employees navigating to work, as well as moving shipments in and out of Baton Rouge. We will focus our efforts on minimizing the impact of this situation. During Monday we will be making a new assessment of the situation and will be providing a new update by 4:00 pm. Your patience is appreciated.
