Job Description Job Description The Counselor will meet with a caseload of individuals for biweekly scheduled appointments and provide crisis counseling as necessary. The Counselor will also conduct weekly counseling, education, and/or Bible/prayer groups, record and submit statistical information, assist with intake as required, administer compliance screening for prohibited substances, and attend staff meetings, retreats, conferences, and other Salvation Army events as assigned. The successful candidate will have and Associate’s degree in counseling or related field, have working knowledge of issues such as substance abuse, homelessness, displacement, etc., and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position requires flexibility in work schedule to include evenings and occasional weekend time.
