Mechanical Product Engineering Manager manages the design and development of mechanical industrial products, components, and systems to meet required specifications and standards. Oversees the analysis of product requirements, objectives, and constraints and reviews technical and functional specifications for mechanical products. Being a Mechanical Product Engineering Manager provides technical guidance and recommendations for complex design modifications. Manages the entire product lifecycle from gathering requirements, forecasting costs, and scheduling timelines to ensure solutions meet the outlined specifications and manufacturing cost requirements. Additionally, Mechanical Product Engineering Manager reviews and enhances CAD models and drawings to develop innovative mechanical manufacturing parts or components. Collaborates with stakeholders to understand existing and future needs to research and plan potential new products. Designs guidelines and processes to conduct simulations and prototype testing to ensure the integrity of results and consistency of testing. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Mechanical Product Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.
