Summary

The Program/Project Manager reports to the Director, Digital Services and is a multifaceted professional that leads the execution of complex digital programs and projects.  This role works with multiple digital and business teams, including Digital Product Design, QA, Digital Marketing, AARP Business Partners, Consumer Care and other teams.  Products and deliverables often span digital platforms which include our website, enterprise CMS, mobile, voice, and AARP Consumer Care channels.

Responsibilities

The role serves as an action and results oriented team member who plays a leading role within Digital Strategy and Membership (DSM) to deliver best in class digital solutions that meet our customer experience standards and drive AARP business goals.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, coordinate, and manage stakeholders and resources for projects (including budgets).
  • Interpret and understand business needs and objectives, and how they map to Enterprise priorities and the AARP Dashboard.  Effectively lead groups of subject matter experts in discussions and problem-solving activities to advance delivery of scalable and efficient digital solutions.  Partner with design and technical staff to translate business needs into application and operational requirements.  
  • Create and manage multiple work streams for a program/project, coordinating across multiple teams and dependencies within and among projects to meet delivery deadlines
  • Identify key decisions and risks, and facilitate their solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder communications and expectations throughout the process.  Create and maintain project plans and accompanying documentation. This includes a formal project plan and written business communications,
  • Plan and carry out quality tests and checks on digital deliverables, troubleshoot issues, and work with technical staff to resolve problems.
  • Utilize knowledge of digital technology in order to organize and execute work with technical and business teams; to include large scale content management systems, industry standard identity and security solutions, and mobile l solutions.
  • Identify creative solutions that satisfy the business needs and align with our digital strategy, platforms, and best practices.  Articulate and execute on digital strategies that support business deliverables.

 

 

Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience, including digital project management and client management experience.  An MBA is desired but not required.

  • Demonstrated project team leadership skills.

  • Strong written and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to see the big picture and work collaboratively.

  • Able to work independently, and with limited oversight from a manager to deliver timely, quality solutions.

  • PMP certification desired.

  • Experience with an established, large scale CMS (e.g., AEM, etc) as well as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Products. 

  • Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment that employs customer experience principles and design thinking.
