The primary purpose of this role is to source and develop small and diverse suppliers for consideration in sourcing opportunities, through partnership with organizational business units, to ensure small and diverse suppliers have an equal opportunity to gain business at AARP. This role will also engage with 3rd party trade and professional organizations to establish a network of alliances to identify and develop new and existing small and diverse suppliers. In addition, the role is expected to execute and maintain established standard practice for providing small and diverse suppliers for sourcing consideration to business units.
ResponsibilitiesCompletion of a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of procurement or supplier diversity experience
Must show demonstrated leadership and a customer service mindset.
Must have a solid understanding of the source-to-contract and procure-to-pay segments of procurement operations.
Must have excellent problem-solving skills
Has a proven passion for diversity and inclusion and a dedication to AARP’s social mission.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekends to attend events and meetings (travel up to 20% of the time).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to keep accurate records and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently or with others to manage multiple tasks.
Proficient use of PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
