Summary

AARP's Programs is seeking a qualified intern to join its Turnkey Programs team (May, 2020 – December, 2020) You must be motivated, energetic and willing to collaborate with the team to help them achieve their goals to support the 50+ through our in-person and online educational programming. As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to expand your knowledge of our programs and operations.  In this internship, you will build your resume while gaining first-hand knowledge of how the nation’s largest non-profit organization works, develops and conveys its programs and messages to 38 million members across the United States. This is a paid position.

Responsibilities

This internship includes, but is not limited to supporting marketing, communications, operations, data analysis, research and other duties.  As an intern, you will gain valuable work experience with an opportunity to expand your knowledge of our programs and operations. Duties include:

  • Work closely with the staff in the Programs department to support VP and Programs teams through timely marketing, communications and analytical research. 
  • Assist with writing of Facebook and other social media content to promote local events.
  • Assist in the reporting and analysis of program event data (e.g. Excel reports, sorting and analyzing data); as well as data entry and maintaining existing reports
  • Prepare reports and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents
  • Assist with project management, promotional communications, document preparation and review, ongoing reports and data analysis

 

Requirements

Prospective intern must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university; and be considered rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post doctorate students.

  

AARP also considers non-traditional interns who are looking to re-enter the workforce or change careers.  This may include those who have previously graduated college and are now enrolled in a continuing education program.
