Position Summary The Patient Safety Manager is responsible for supporting patient safety initiatives including Joint Commission Accreditation, performance improvement, and clinical complaints/grievances resolution. The role performs a variety of duties related to internal and external regulatory requirements and projects. Scope of projects include research, investigation, analysis, communication and education to stakeholders, and recommendation of best practices. What You Will Do Manage the processes and data aggregation related to patient safety and risk reduction activities Analyze results of the culture of patient safety survey, disseminate findings to the Patient Safety Committee, recommend areas for organizational focus and facilitates actions for improvement Execute Joint Commission mock survey and facilitate corrective action plans Analyze and identify trends from adverse-event and “near miss” reports Facilitate root cause analysis of critical harm events, perform or review case write up summations and response to TJC complaints from their or TJC reviewable sentinel events Manage Joint Commission accreditation activities and resulting requirements for improvement. Deploy follow-up for findings and monitor compliance with corrective action plans.   Manage the portal for safety event reporting, complaints/grievances, and peer review What Do You Get To have a direct impact on patient safety initiatives which allow ACCESS to provide quality patient care To join the team at the forefront of building out the 21st century model of health care that is both accessible and affordable to ALL people Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare or other related field 3 years’ experience in Clinical Risk Management and/or Patient Safety Minimum 2 years’ experience working with The Joint Commission Standards and Survey Methods Minimum 2 years’ experience managing an online event submission portal and monitoring event closure Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration Risk Management Certification Lean Six Sigma experience Administrative oversight of Risk Management Software 5 years’ experience in quality improvement methodologies and tools Minimum 3 years’ experience with project management in multi-site organization
