Description

FUNCTION:

Facilitates, coordinates, develops, implements, and follows-up on behavioral support programs that enhance the vocational opportunities of people with disabilities. Ensures that the Employment Planning approach is the focal point when developing an individual vocational plan. Supervises the Employment Supports Facilitator and the Provisional Employment Specialists. Reports to the Assistant Director of Competitive Integrated Employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supports the achievement of individuals’ personal outcomes
  2. Develops, implements and presents Employment Planning options to individuals at the time of initial intake.
  3. Provides tools, techniques, and information for the purpose of helping people with disabilities to achieve their employment goals.
  4. Develops modalities to be implemented at various community and program sites to teach vocational, social, and pre-employment skills.
  5. Trains staff members at various Facility-Based Employment sites on how to teach vocational and general job skills to individuals in accordance with their Supported Employment Training plan.
  6. Works in conjunction with Employment Supports Facilitator to develop innovative approaches to meeting goals outlined in an individual’s employment plan.
  7. Provides ongoing support to people with disabilities as they progress toward their vocational goals.
  8. Maintains ongoing relationships with Facility-Based Employment Sites, Mobile Work Crews, and Supported Employment Department to develop vocational goals and identify areas to increase vocational and soft skills.
  9. Maintains ongoing relationships with community partners; allowing individuals to get community-based work experience to complement vocational instruction
  10. Communicates pertinent information to the vocational staff, parents and other interested parties.
  11. Revises employment goals as required and communicates as frequently as necessary with plant staff regarding progress/changes.
  12. Writes reports for quarterly reviews and annual staffings. Attends ISP (Individual Support Plan) meetings.
  13. Communicates effectively and clearly with individuals outside of the Vocational Supports program, both intra-agency and inter-agency.
  14. Participates in agency meetings and training programs as required.
  15. Extensive travel in Allegheny and surrounding counties.
  16. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications


High School Diploma required. Must have an understanding of the learning style and behavioral needs of adults with disabilities. Valid PA driver’s license and vehicle available for daily use, as well as Act 33/34 and FBI clearances, are required.
