ACHIEVA Internship - The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh Salary in the United States

FUNCTION:

This Penn State University Summer Residency is a 10-12-week (400 hour) internship in partial fulfillment of the requirement for completion of the MHA Mental Health Administration degree.  During the internship, the student will apply classroom acquired knowledge to the work environment. Supervised by the President, Arc of Greater Pittsburgh. 

Dates of Internship: May-August 2021; Monday through Friday 7.5 hours per day

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Become familiar with the full array of services and supports offered by Achieva.

2. Observe and participate in Empowered Voices meetings. 

3. Observe meetings of the Disability and Justice Community Collaboration Initiative. 

4. Observe the May board meeting of The Arc of Greater Pittsburgh and present information about the internship.

5. Reach out to individuals and organizations representing ethnic and racial groups and assess the needs of children and adults with disabilities and families in their organizations and communities.

6. Complete a cost-benefit analysis of providing services in various communities.

7. Integrate multiple competencies such as written, quantitative, verbal, into one or more projects.

8. Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

9. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications

A graduate-level student enrolled in a Masters level Social Service or related degree program; must meet Act 33 and 34 requirements; must have a valid license to drive in the State of Pennsylvania.
