AVERHEALTH Lab Screening Technician Salary in the United States

Averhealth is a medical testing laboratory that specializes in supporting monitoring and testing for patients with substance use disorder.

(4) SHIFTS AVAILABLE: MONDAY - FRIDAY, 6 AM - 2:30 PM OR 9 AM - 5:30 PM OR 11 AM - 7:30 PM OR 1 PM - 9 PM

Pay: $16-$17/HR (depending on which shift worked) with Full-Time Benefits Attendance Bonus Eligibility Annual Uniform Allowance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists the Production Manager with sample processing and result reporting through immunoassay testing
• Operates and maintains Screening Instrument and review of data in compliance with current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of screening methods.
• Troubleshoots issues with screening instruments.
• Meets laboratory productivity targets on a consistent basis.
• Assists with laboratory inventory.
• Adheres to all security procedures for ensuring the confidentiality of donor information.
• Adheres to all established guidelines outlined in Averhealth's Guidebook.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of screening methods.
• Advanced ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures.
• Advanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentation.
• Advanced ability to understand certification requirements for CLIA.
• Basic understanding of drugs of abuse that are tested.
• Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to complete the job with no errors.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to pass a color blind test, accommodations made if not.
• Skill in the use of computers, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education And Experience

• BS degree in Chemistry, Biology, Forensic Science or relevant field REQUIRED
• ONE year of experience in a Lab environment, preferred
• ONE year of experience/knowledge of Immunoassay Testing
