Head Start Coordinator Salaries in the United States

As the coordinator, your responsibilities are to coordinate student transportation, conduct field visits, hire and assign staff to locations, and work as a liaison between staff and the head start principal, as well as between each family and the program.

Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of the Head Start Performance Standards and the component plans; Head Start child development outcomes; and thorough knowledge and application of Developmentally Appropriate Practices.

High School diploma or GED and National Head Start Association Family Services Coordinator certification required.AA or BS degree in social work preferred.  Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English required.

Under the general direction of the Delegate Head Start Director, has primary responsibility for planning, organizing, and implementing the Family and Community Partnership service area.

Under the supervision and direction of the Child Development/Disabilities Consultant, the Early Childhood Education Coordinator promotes the school readiness of Head Start of Lane County’s children by providing technical assistance, mentoring, and training to the staff and agency.
