WHO WE ARE - Established in 1919, the Black Mountain Fire Department is located in Western North Carolina. A combination paid and volunteer organization, we man two fire stations with another unmanned station in the Laurel Ridge Community.. We have 19 paid firefighters 8 part-time paid, and 45 volunteers at the present time. The department has achieved a Class 4 rating for the towns fire protectio
