Summary: Reporting directly to the Vice President of Nursing and indirectly to the System Director of Surgical Services, the MyMichigan Medical Center-Midland Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for planning, organizing and directing of the operations and staff (clinical and non-clinical) of the respective division while maintaining effective business relationships which promote the services of the department. This position has 24-hour responsibility and accountability for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care to ensure optimal patient health outcomes in their respective divisions. This position links nursing management with nursing care through the application of organizational and nursing service policies and procedures. Additionally, the director uses the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements to guide leadership and practice.
