The Shubert Theatre is a 1600 seat performing arts center presenting 150+ performances annually including: Broadway, music, dance, family, community shows and summer outdoor concerts. The Shubert Theatre in New Haven is part of CAPA, a not-for-profit based in Columbus, OH, and the Director of Development will work with the senior management team in New Haven, as well as with the corporate office in Columbus. Direct Reports include the Development Coordinator. Job Summary - CAPA (Connecticut Association for the Performing Arts) and the Shubert Theatre in New Haven, CT seeks a full-time Director of Development to be responsible for the planning and execution of all sponsorship and philanthropic giving programs related to CAPA's Connecticut operations. The Director of Development will be a leader in creating strategic approaches to meeting and advancing the Shubert's $6M annual revenue goal. Growing annual individual giving, major gifts, institutional giving, sponsorship and endowment are central to the position. As the Shubert approaches its 104th anniversary in 2018, in addition to maintaining its annual revenue goals, the Director will oversee and manage the theatre's Centennial Campaign to finance Phase II of renovations and capital improvements, as well as endowment goals and objectives outlined in its strategic plan. Additionally this position is responsible for implementing development plans and overseeing fundraising staff responsible for annual giving, grant writing, special events, board development and business relations. This position works closely with the Board of Directors and reports to the Executive Director/Vice President of the Shubert and CAPA CT.
