Weidner Fire provides personal protective equipment, exhaust removal systems, breathing air compressors, and loose equipment and tools to fire departments across the United States. Built on durable products and reliable service, Weidner Fire is a division of 62-year-old Weidner & Associates. The company is headquartered in Midvale, UT (located in the central area of the Salt Lake Valley). The company's owners are Mark Weidner (president, Weidner & Associates), Brad Colligan (vice president, Weidner Process), and Troy McBride (vice president, Weidner Fire). Weidner & Associates has provided safety products from Pittsburgh-based Mine Safety Appliances (MSA), the largest safety products manufacturer in the world, to the municipal fire service, mining industry, and a wide variety of industrial customers since the 1980s. In the early 1990s, Weidner & Associates entered into an agreement with MSA to act as their exclusive fire service distributor for the state of Utah. Weidner now sells MSA SCBA and thermal imaging cameras throughout the Intermountain West (Utah, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming), while offering MSA Cairns helmets and MSA gas detection products nationwide. The company began providing MSA's self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to some of the major metropolitan area fire departments in Utah in the 1990s, including Salt Lake City Fire Department and Salt Lake County Fire Department (now known as Unified Fire Authority). As the company began to provide MSA products (gas detectors, thermal imaging cameras, and SCBA) to more fire departments and on a more regular basis, we received requests for products that we didn't carry, such as hose, hand tools, and personal protective equipment. Our customers appreciated our service-oriented approach and were interested in procuring more products from us. In response to our customers, in 2004, Weidner & Associates created a new division dedicated specifically to firefighting equipment: Weidner Fire. We now offer products from more than 60 manufacturers.
