Job Description

Crowne Plaza Albuquerque is seeking an experienced hotel/resort Controller. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, five plus years of hands-on experience in a hotel accounting environment, and a strong background in computerized hotel systems, including front-of-the-house in addition to back-office systems.

This position oversees and trains the accounting and night audit positions. The Controller works in coordination with and reports to the corporate office on all aspects of hotel accounting, including general ledger reconciliation, monthly and quarterly sales tax filing, timely monthly financials, balance sheet analysis, and year-end closings as well as all policy, procedure and internal control compliance. This position will work closely with the ownership.

A successful candidate will have experience with:

•Budget Preparation and Proposal

•Accounts Payable

•Accounts Receivable

•Income Audit

•Night Audit

•General Ledger Account Reconciliation

•Financial Statement Preparation

•Cash Management and Bank Reconciliations

•Tracking and Reconciling Capital Expenditures

•Reconciling Franchise Fees and Account for all Incentive Programs Offered Through the Brand

Job Requirements

Preferred credentials and skills include:

•Minimum five (5) years of accounting experience in a leadership role. Hotel experience required.

•Advanced knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audit required.

•Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

•IT Support skills

•Microsoft Office with a strong proficiency in Excel

•Opera Property Management System experience preferred

•Digital Dining Point of Sale System experience preferred
