Overview: Under the direction of the Director of Environmental and Fleet Services, the Project Coordinator is responsible for the development, oversight and coordination of various projects that fall within the scope of Environmental Modifications (E-Mods), Assistive Technology (V-Tech) and Vehicle Modifications (V-Mods).

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports To: Director of Environmental and Fleet Services

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform intake services for all Modification requests inclusive of collecting necessary paperwork from Care Coordinators and eligible participant, through project acceptance.
  • Attends/coordinates meeting with stakeholders involved in modifications, in the field, to gather facts and document field conditions. Reviews project in conjunction with the Director to complete a proposed Scope of Work.
  • Coordinates other contracted professional services, as required by the funding source, for design of certain project types.
  • Upon approval of scope of work, meets with eligible participant to review and upon approval/acceptance by all, including funding source, begin bid processing.
  • Prepares and send out bid documents. Upon receipt of bid reviews for accuracy and completeness and upon acceptance of bid, begins planning the project.
  • Maintain and monitor project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures. Alerts Director and other stakeholders of any project deadlines extensions or changes.
  • Processes all required paperwork associated with project, inclusive of invoices, reports, etc.
  • Meets with contractors in the field to ensure project is progressing as intended.
  • Assess project risks, concerns, and delay. Recommend/offer solutions where applicable and in conjunction with the Department Director.
  • Assist with project tasks as needed and in accordance with area of expertise/education/training.
  • Upon completion of project, performs a final inspection and submits final paperwork for funding source.
  • As time and projects allow, assist Buildings and Grounds Supervisor with contractor operations for repair and capital projects occurring at properties owned/operations by Able2. Assistance would include specification writing, bid Invitations, bid Evaluation, and bid qualification.
  • Adheres to agency standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Corporate Compliance Program, the Code of Business Conduct and associated policies and guidelines, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Performs such other duties as assigned by the Director of Environmental and Fleet Services.
  • Adheres to the Personnel Policy established by the Board of Directors and the Policies & Procedures established by the Executive Director.


  • Associates Degree in Construction, Construction Technology, or Building Technology, or a minimum of 6 years in the residential construction industry with experience in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical. Other like experience considered.
  • Experience in NYS Building codes helpful.
  • Experience in the preparation of project specifications, bid documents and ability to read/understand construction related documents such as drawings, specs, scope of work, contracts, etc.
  • Effective knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF files.
  • Must be highly organized and have effective decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills. .
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with multiple stakeholders, inclusive of families, customers, care coordinators, contractors, and funding source contacts.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation to travel between Agency locations, work sites, and client homes.
