ABILITY KC FT Registered Behavior Tech Salary in the United States

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), is under close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and possibly Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA). The RBT position is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior analytic services after treatment plans are completed by the BCBA. The RBT provides instruction in skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols based upon the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in the home, community, and school settings[AB1] .

Under day to day supervision of the Lead and/or assigned Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT staff are responsible for conducting applied behavior analytic therapy with individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) as directed by the BCBA. The Behavioral Technician will collect data on programs, assist with parent training, and assist the Behavior Analyst, Lead Behavioral Technician[AB2] , and ABA Interns[AB3] with clinical assessments as needed. The RBT staff maintains regular communications and reporting with the assigned BCBA and/or BCaBA. The RBT staff will maintain regular communication with the child’s family and/or staff to promote continuity in behavioral application of strategies and to share successes as they occur. The program reports through the Developmental and Behavioral Health Department (DBHD) with leadership provided by the Clinical Director.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• CPR certification or eligible
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification preferred
• PRN Registered Behavior Technician Position– RBT certification is required
• Must obtain RBT certification within 21 days of hire and maintain annual certification.

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working directly with children with autism within a behavioral format and 2 years experience with evidence of success in the treatment of young children with disabilities or developmental delay preferred.
• Two years of completed coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development or related fields preferred.
• Proficiency in working with early intervention / early childhood and populations preferred.
