Status: Full-Time Exempt

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager will assist on project management activities related to the development of affordable multifamily housing developments.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with loan, grant and Low Income Housing Tax Credit applications
• Assist with land acquisition due diligence
• Prepare monthly lender draws
• Process land use approvals and entitlements, if needed
• Prepare presentations for community meetings or conducting research
• Coordinate the development team
• Participate in the project design process
• Assist with the closing of all construction and perm period financing
• Assist with construction administration
• Participate in the lease-up and occupancy process
• File departmental documents
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

To perform effectively in this position, the Assistant Project Manager must have:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning/studies, finance, or real estate development.
• One (1) year of experience in any aspect of affordable multi-family housing or real estate, such as financing, land acquisition, or development.
• One (1) year of experience using Excel to create spreadsheets and manage data.
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Access to a personal vehicle to be used to conduct ACOF business.
• Ability to meet California minimum and ACOF insurance requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree.
• Knowledge of financing sources available for affordable housing.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience preparing loan, grant and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit applications.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and public and private lenders.
• Strong organizational, time management and analytical skills along with problem solving abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to create presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint and manipulate documents in Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in representing ACOF to colleagues, constituents, funders, and public officials
