Abilities First, Inc., a CQL accredited organization, has been making a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities for over fifty years. Starting out as The Little Red School House in 1962, Abilities First, Inc. has evolved into the Hudson Valley’s premiere provider of support services for individuals with developmental disabilities. We offer a variety of services including school and preschool programs, day habilitation, residential habilitation, community habilitation, and employment services.
The Neighborhood Center Coordinator will lead a team of staff in developing and implementing meaningful activities to maximize the personal and vocational potential of individuals in the program, provide on-site supervision and mentoring of staff, as well as meet the day-to-day direct care needs of the participants. Activities include community outings, walking, picnics, volunteer work, in-house activities such as arts and crafts, teaching basic life skills, transporting participants in vans, etc. Must be organized and be able to complete paperwork and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
