Where you fit:

Accela is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner to join our growing HR team. You will be responsible for providing HR support across the organization, providing expert advice on fair and equitable employment practices and provide coaching to managers regarding policies and process. This role will also work closely with the Talent Acquisition team providing recruiting support to the organization.  

This is a critical role with a lot of responsibility and enormous growth potential as the business scales. You will be responsible for the following and will also be the creative type that will challenge us to think beyond these expectations to create even better HR services.

What you will do: 

  • Monitor and provide support to the business during annual employee life cycle processes such as performance reviews, compensation and rewards, and headcount planning
  • Work closely with executives, management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Work closely with the HR operations team members to implement specific HR processes and transactions
  • Effectively help resolve employee relations concerns and when necessary, conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Solve problems and get to the root cause of any issue, no matter how complex, design and quickly implement solutions
  • Drive implementation and execution of core programs
  • Analyze and interpret the organization’s needs in order to make program improvement recommendations, leverage best practices and identify opportunities for efficiencies
  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team with sourcing, screening and managing full life-cycle recruiting activities for assigned positions as needed
  • Complete ad-hoc projects, reporting and tasks as required

The education, skills and experience you bring:

  • BA/BS degree in business, human resources management or related field and 3+ years of human resources and/or business partner experience
  • Experience in all HR functional areas (recruiting, compensation, performance management, retention, etc.)
  • HR strategist with proven HR Business Partner skills
  • An assertive, flexible and common-sense work style that is proactive in communications, effective in building relationships and influencing at all levels within the company
  • The ability to manage sensitive and complex employee relations cases and experience conducting investigations, making recommendations and facilitating resolution
  • A strong, independent, results-focused orientation and a proven track record of exceeding expectations
  • Experience balancing multiple priorities, performing work details with accuracy and meeting established deadlines
  • Strong organizational, analytical and written/oral communication skills
  • PHR/SPHR certification desired
