Job Description

Context

The role holder will conduct detailed research into companies & sectors and produce written research to support the team’s investment strategies. Analysts are expected to evidence their idea generation through intensive and thoughtful first-hand research and present these ideas to the team with an overarching objective to deliver value creating stock recommendations that improve client outcomes. This role is flexible in terms of experience, but we are looking for motivated individuals that thrive in a high-paced and collaborative research environment.

Key Outcomes:

 Research

• To undertake security and sector analysis and complete written research to support the investment team’s various products.
• To keep up-to-date on company-level, sector and market developments and trends
• To perform analysis of company results and provide results commentaries of portfolio holdings.

 Investment

• To attend all regular and ad-hoc team meetings to discuss and present investment ideas
• To provide updates on company meetings and results at team meetings

Key Knowledge/Experience/Qualifications

• Progression towards CFA Charterholder designation is preferred.
• To build and maintain knowledge of Aberdeen Standard’s equity investment process, products and allocated market/sector responsibilities.
• To build and maintain knowledge of systems, including Charles River, Bloomberg and other applications.
