ACCEPT Education Collaborative is a regional non-profit educational organization located in Medway and Natick, MA. ACCEPT provides a wide range of programs and services including special education for students with moderate to severe needs, specialized transportation, home-based services, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development. ACCEPT offers a continuum of programs and services Prek-12 and to age 22 for both students in life skills and Therapeutic programs. Our programs address autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral needs, global impairments, cognitive/intellectual disabilities, language disorders, ADHD/ADD, and nonverbal learning disability. Position Summary: Under the direction of the director of student services, responsible for implementing and managing effective, compliant and cost efficient special education services for students within the appropriate timelines. Responsible for managing and overseeing the collaborative’s efforts regarding students: attendance, discipline management, transfer process, community outreach, and social/emotional health and wellbeing. Qualifications Required: Minimum of a Master's Degree, with a specialization and experience in one of the following: Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, School Adjustment Counselor, or Teacher of Children with Speech, Language or Hearing Disorders Minimum of 5 years of directly relevant experience Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure as an Administrator/Director of Special Education Depth of knowledge regarding special education laws, regulations, processes and procedures Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills enabling information sharing and the development of trusting relationships with parents, staff, outside evaluators, advocates and administrators Skill in interpreting assessments and determining educational interventions in response to a learning profile Demonstrated skill in meeting facilitation, case management, communication and pedagogy Experience Supervising and Evaluating special education staff Teaching or other special education service skill that will benefit the Collaborative Demonstrated skills in organizational development, planning, scheduling, decision-making, and interpersonal and community relations Experience and expertise in curriculum adaptation, staff development, staff supervision and evaluation, preferred Qualifications Desired: Experience working for a non-profit organization Experience working for an education collaborative Essential Responsibilities: Administer special education eligibility process, extended and 3-year evaluations including chairing team meetings Ensure IEPs, progress reports, data and assessment reports, FBAs, BIPs, etc. meet all regulatory and Collaborative/District standards, are written to reflect best practice, reflect high quality programming, and are implemented with integrity Work with Collaborative teams to develop and implement efficient and effective service delivery models reflecting best practice Assessment and Progress Monitoring Coordinator, as assigned Manage complex and challenging cases, by maintaining effective parent, staff, advocate and outside evaluator contact Provide direct administrative oversight to the specialized programs.
