ACCEPT EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor Summer Program Salary in the United States

ACCEPT Education Collaborative is a regional non-profit educational organization with locations in Medway and Natick, MA.  ACCEPT provides a wide range of programs and services including special education for students with moderate to severe needs, specialized transportation, home-based services, behavioral and educational consultation, and professional development. ACCEPT offers a continuum of programs and services Prek-12 and to age 22 for both students in life skills and Therapeutic programs.  Our programs address autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral needs, global impairments, cognitive/intellectual disabilities, language disorders, ADHD/ADD, and nonverbal learning disability.

ACCEPT is seeking dynamic and compassionate vocational counselors to work in our transition program in Medway High School. This role will provide educational and vocational counseling services to students and their parents as well as assess the job readiness of students and develop individualized development plans to enhance their employability. This position will be for our Summer Program that runs the first of July through  the first week of August.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university
• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor licensure
• Minimum two (2) years relevant experience
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Executive Director may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal requirements.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and present vocational evaluations of students
• Develop and implement vocational IEP goals and objectives.
• Develop behavioral and medical emergency protocols for student workers.
• Develop data collection systems to document student progress in the workplace.
• Job development, job carving, and help employers make accommodations for student workers.
• Maintain communication with parents in regards to changes, progress, etc.
• Observe and monitor job sites. Give feedback to job coaches regarding work performance and student progress.
• Work with siblings and peers to address goals and issues.
• Collect data for services being implemented with the program.
• Write and submit weekly and quarterly progress reports to parents and teacher
• Participate in IEP meetings.
• Participate in training sessions throughout the year.
• Provide transition support to students.
• Other duties as assigned.
