The general purpose of this role is to provide support to field operations team with day to day administrative operations. This requires a self-motivated individual who can work well with little supervision, who takes pride in their work & can perform within a team concerted atmosphere.

Purpose:

To manage the New York City fleet of vehicle’s service and maintenance, ensuring all vehicle have updated and proper inspections, registrations, maintenance schedule, and any accident repairs completed in a timely and a professional manner. 

Essential Functions:

  • Respond to any safety concerns reported and take responsibility for their resolution
  • Perform strict quality control on mechanical repairs and vehicle maintenance
  • Schedule and manage any maintenance, body and mechanical repair, and valid inspection and registration of company vehicles at all boroughs/projects
  • Maintain proper vehicle maintenance, adhering to OEM recommended maintenance schedules
  • Maintain and manage fleet GPS telematics system database. Including setting up telematic alerts/reports/alarms for each project to monitor driver’s identification and vehicle safety reports.
  • Manage vehicle ticket adjudication process to ensure maximum ticket dismissal percent. Duties include collecting accurate documentation and affidavits for each citation received and submitting those packages to our ticket processing agency on a weekly basis.
  • Create and/or maintain monthly fleet reports submitted to management to determine the health of the overall fleet
  • Control of any tools, equipment, spare parts, or fluids relating to fleet maintenance that maybe kept at borough/project
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

  • High School Diploma combined with at least 3 years’ fleet management experience OR Associate Degree combined with at least 1 year of fleet management experience
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures associated with performing mechanical vehicle repair
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with or direct employees, vendors and customers
  • Ability to produce concise, accurate reports and work comfortably with MS-Office to use Excel Spreadsheets and similar tools
  • Positive, can do, attitude. Willing and able to work under pressure with time constraints
  • Provide quick write-ups for policy infractions, vehicle accidents, and/or misuse
  • Must be able to identify training requirements and carry out disciplinary action when required

Preferred:

  • Experience either as a professional vehicle technician or vehicle technician manager
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics or related field
  • Experience managing vehicle repair and registration in multiple NY boroughs

 Physical Demand:

  • Frequent standing, sitting, typing, speaking, walking, reaching, crouching, bending, kneeling, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
