Aclara is looking for individuals to join our full-time meter installation team. The Meter Installers are responsible for safely and efficiently replacing water meters on residential or commercial property.

Essential Functions:

• Check existing meter, install replacement meter, and perform final meter test
• Accurately collect customer data and document the installations in writing and with handheld device
• Perform any necessary meter box replacement & adjustment
• Achieve specified standards of safety and quality of work.
• Meet installation rate as established by the Project Manager

 Additional Responsibilities:

• If necessary, some digging may need to be performed prior to meter replacement
• Work closely with colleagues and superiors to maintain a professional environment

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Required:

• Previous working experience in the construction field (Water Operation, Electrical, Natural Gas Meters, Telecom, Solar, Cable Field Techs or HVAC). General field-based work experience will also be considered, unless otherwise noted
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Clear 3-year moving vehicle report
• Available to work staggered shifts, if needed (Mon. to Thurs., Wed. to Sat; 10-hour days).
• Willing and able to travel to various job sites
• Comfortable interacting with customers while upholding Aclara SGS customer standards
• Ability to use assigned tools properly and work within safety guidelines
• Knowledge of/ability to work with technology, computers, and various software programs                                                                   

Preferred:

• Previous experience installing or repairing electric, gas, and/or water meters

Physical Demand:

• Physical ability to work in an outdoor environment, including, but not limited to: Walking, climbing, and stooping for up to 10 hours per day in all types of weather conditions
• Use of full body to utilize shovels, grinders, and other hand-held/power tools as necessary

 Compensation & Benefits

• $18.00/hour
• Benefit eligibility, including medical, dental, and vision, after 90-day probationary period.
• 401K enrollment eligibility (effective after 30 days of employment).
• Holiday pay
